Amy Inspired by Bethany Pierce

Amy has a life long dream of becoming a published writer.  Rejection after rejection keeps her firmly secure in the safe, yet boring, life that she has built for herself.  When her roommate extends an offer to Eli to crash on the couch temporarily, Amy’s safe world is disrupted.  Eli’s presence forces Amy to step out of her safe zone and challenges her to decide if she really wants the dream she has been chasing for so long.

While the story flowed well and was easy to follow, I found it to be a slow read.  Like any story, this one will have mixed reviews.  People’s opinions on this story are going to be based a lot on their beliefs.  A stoutly conservative person might find themselves offended by some of the living arrangements but there is a character to fit everyone in the story.  There is the stoutly conservative people and the very easy going (some might say liberal) “what ever may be” type of people and just about anything in between.

"Let's Do Lunch" By Roger Troy Wilson [Book Review]

“Let’s Do Lunch”

Roger Troy Wilson

Roger Troy Wilson weighed 425 pounds and had a 5-foot waist. He had given up on losing weight and prayed that he would die and go to Heaven.

After fifteen years of experimenting with different foods and eating patterns, he discovered how to actually have fun losing weight easily---almost the complete opposite of most diets. He lost 230 pounds and 24 inches from his waist.

His weight loss strategy does not qualify as low-fat, low-carb, etc.

His method of losing this weight may seem unconventional to some but may help those who feel beyond help. I found his story to be intriguing but will admit that I have mixed feelings about the nutritional value of eating this way. Wilson offers some sound advice like avoiding bad carbs (i.e. from bread, potatoes) as much as possible, eating your heavy meal at lunch and eating fruit instead of sugary foods.

If you have tried and are at your wit’s end on a weight loss journey I do not see how trying this approach would be harmful. The book itself offers recipes, shopping lists, and provides a link to Wilson’s webpage. Wilson is not telling you “must do this” but instead offering suggestions/changes that could benefit you.
