Amy has a life long dream of becoming a published writer. Rejection after rejection keeps her firmly secure in the safe, yet boring, life that she has built for herself. When her roommate extends an offer to Eli to crash on the couch temporarily, Amy’s safe world is disrupted. Eli’s presence forces Amy to step out of her safe zone and challenges her to decide if she really wants the dream she has been chasing for so long.
While the story flowed well and was easy to follow, I found it to be a slow read. Like any story, this one will have mixed reviews. People’s opinions on this story are going to be based a lot on their beliefs. A stoutly conservative person might find themselves offended by some of the living arrangements but there is a character to fit everyone in the story. There is the stoutly conservative people and the very easy going (some might say liberal) “what ever may be” type of people and just about anything in between.
